"Pierre Vallieres: Rare Pair Of 18th Century French Solid Silver Candlesticks Paris - 1776"
Extremely rare pair of 18th century solid silver candlesticks with cast contoured round bases shafts, and knobs and capitals with octagonal sides. Joined a pair of 18th century Paris solid silver drip pan in the same pattern. Each candlestick is punched with the Hallmarks of Charge (large and medium works) and Discharge for PARIS 1774-80, the Hallmarks of Jurande for PARIS 1776 (date letter "N") and Hallmarks of Master Goldsmith Pierre Vallières (Hallmark with the initials "PV" and a key) active in 1776. This rare pair of French 18th century candlesticks is in very good general condition and remarkably hallmarked, complete with drip pans, and just micro-scratches from use to note.
