Old oil on canvas dating from the second part of the 19th century. Unusual naturalistic subject depicting Boulonnais horses pulling blocks of stone. Very beautiful panoramic composition. The limestone cliffs contrast with the cloudy sky typical of northern France. Signed by the artist Rosalbin De Buncey. Marie-Abraham Rosalbin de Buncey (March 26, 1833 in Châtillon-sur-Marne - January 19, 1891 in Paris 16) draftsman and painter of history, allegorical subjects, genre scenes and urban landscapes. Rosalbin is a student of Léon Cogniet at the École des beaux-arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1879; works in museums in Chambéry, Montpellier, Pontoise and Reims. Original canvas and frame. Note some lack of paint. 61cm x 46cm Good general condition;
