The footrest stool Very well known and sought after by any 18th century enthusiast, the footrest is a small piece of furniture, almost always functioning with a shepherdess linked to the search for comfort. It allowed its owner to have his feet elevated, thus avoiding cold drafts. Richly carved, gilded for the most prestigious orders (such as our Marcion stool), it can also be lacquered for more common works. The one we are presenting shows, at the assembly level, traces of the old gray lacquer. Condition Report: The stool has been completely restored. The fabric and trimmings are new and recall through their patterns the refinement that the French kingdom had reached at the very end of the 18th century.
