Superb Regency ogee box in Martin lacquered wood in “coral red” color with rich “gold” decoration on all sides; a couple of figures sitting under a tree in a park are surrounded by beautiful plants, birds and countryside animals. 18th century box for storing toiletries or for a man's or woman's wig.
The box rests on 4 ball-shaped ivory legs of 18th century origin. The interior is very clean.
Tightening the lid (visible from the inside) allowed the beautiful preservation of the coral decoration and golden motifs.
The front and opening fittings are original.
