Magnificent and rare pair of candlesticks, in silvered bronze, antique style dating from the second half of the 19th century.

The ornamental repertoire of torches is entirely oriented towards antiquity:
The torch shafts are made up of a bust of a woman in term, decorated with scraps of base, acanthus leaves and roses.
Each foot is decorated with two lit torches, as a reminder of the function of the object.
Friezes of posts and palmettes decorate the binets.

The women's faces are very pure and finely executed, as are the drapery, hair and other ornamental elements.
The busts are massive and deliberate, in a beautiful round shape.

The torches are mounted on a threaded rod.

The silvering is of very good quality and very thick.
