Exceptional Pair of 18th century style Solid Silver Candlesticks. Octagonal cast silver bases are surrounded by a large gadroon border with knops and capitals decorated with the same decor. Very finely crafted from the highest quality silver, each piece is stamped with the Minerva 1st Standard hallmark (.950) on each part, mark of the Master Goldsmith HENRY Frères, with in addition on each piece the Signature in full letters "BOIN TABURET à Paris", moreover each piece is numbered (see photos). Revised and cleaned by our Parisian silversmith, this exceptional pair of 18th century style candlesticks is in very good condition, with just micro-scratches from use to note. A pure marvel to discover through the attached photos...This pair of candlesticks reflects all the know-how of the prestigious French goldsmiths Georges Boin and his son-in-law Emile Taburet who created the Maison Boin-Taburet in Paris in 1873. They created numerous pieces of goldsmithing inspired by the magnificent services of the 18th century and distinguished themselves with a Medal at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1878. They received another Medal to that of Paris in 1889.
