Sculpture representing "The child with the collar" after the famous infant's head by Jean-Joseph Carriès (1855-1894). The child's face is represented with great realism. J.Carriès is a French sculptor and ceramist born in Lyon on February 15, 1855 and died in Paris on July 1, 1894. He is renowned for his enameled stoneware influenced by Japanese ceramics and his dreamlike creatures which link him to the Symbolist movement. Our statuette is an old proof and in perfect condition. Around 1900.
