P. Roussel for Pierre Roussel (1723-1782) famous Parisian cabinetmaker received Master on August 21, 1745.
It is entirely veneered on three sides with a delightful marquetry decoration of flowers, knots and foliage on a rosewood background in reserves. These, sinuous in shape and highlighted with light lines, stand out against dark amaranth wood frames.
It opens with two leaves in its lower part and with a flap which reveals a stepped interior composed of shelves, lockers and six curved drawers.
The front uprights have cut sides veneered in rosewood arranged in a herringbone pattern.
Top of Aleppo breccia marble formerly glued back together.
Beautiful original bronze and bolt decoration.
