After her childhood spent in Algeria, Marcelle Ackein returned in 1920 to the African continent which was so dear to her, thanks to a scholarship. She thus explored North Africa as far as Niger and also went to Sudan and Guinea, countries where she draws her inspiration. Marcelle Ackein transforms everyday scenes with an originality of her own, as well as with great modernity.
