We present to you this rare oak display unit, opening with four double doors. This two-body piece of furniture typical of the beautiful Ile de France productions of the 17th century is presented with its interior and its original molded and scrolled shelves, the framed bottom, a particularly thick and complex molding on the doors, the cut-out doors in ogive. The wrought and cut iron door fittings are remarkable, the sides mounted with iron lag bolts as is appropriate in this type of furniture. The design and proportions of this piece of furniture are particularly elegant and balanced. It bears on the back an old handwritten label indicating the provenance (see photos): Monsieur de Chavaudon Chateau de Droupt St Basle Mesgrigny Méry Aube it is undoubtedly the Marquis de Chavaudon, whose family remained the owner of the Chateau de Droupt St Basle near Troyes from 1714 to 1974, the year the contents of the castle were dispersed and sold. Condition report: furniture remains in its original condition. Tthe left door cremone at the bottom is missing. Presence of both high and low keys (twisted low key).
