Bacchus Dancing Bronze Figure

Bronze statue depicting Bacchus as a dancing child,
France mid-nineteenth century.
The happy face of young Bacchus while
he dances and plays castanets is an indication of vitality and carefreeness,
perhaps also given by the vapors of the alcohol ingested.
In fact, at his feet we find an overturned cup and
the jug that probably contains the wine.
Some bunches of grapes on the sides complement the iconography of the Roman deity.
In good condition with original patina between gilded and burnished
