"Portrait Of Mademoiselle De Nantes (presumed To Be) Daughter Of Louis XIV And Madame De Montespan 17th Century"
Portrait of Mademoiselle de Nantes (presumed) Daughter of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan XVIIDelightful portrait of one of the adulterous daughters, legitimated by King Louis XIV: Mademoiselle de Nantes.
She was the daughter of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan.
She is the half-sister of Mademoiselle de Blois that I also sell on my shop.
Mademoiselle de Nantes was born on 1 June 1673 in Tournai, Belgium and died on 16 June 1743 in Paris.
She was Duchess of Bourbon then Princess of CONDÉ by her marriage at the age of 12, by order of the king with Louis III of Bourbon Condé.
Officially she is only the daughter of Louis XIV, Madame de Montespan being married to Monsieur de Montespan.
She was raised without a relationship with her mother.
She was raised with her brothers and sisters by Madame de Maintenon.
This painting is in its juice, with its carved wooden oval frame, blackened of origin.
It seems to have been formerly rentoilé.
Mademoiselle de Nantes wears the hairstyle at the Fontange, fashionable at the time of King Louis XIV.
Very nice painting, bought with the portrait of his half sister Mademoiselle de Blois.
