Important Porcelain Baluster Vase, Japan – 20th
Large Japanese Vase, pot-bellied, with multicolored and protruding decorations of samurai on one side, of flowers on the second. The narrowed collar has more abstract patterns, and serves as a support for two large, generously crafted handles. The moving lips are highlighted by a large golden net. The whole rests on a beige pedestal, painted with brown bands. In addition to the imposing size of this Vase, we will note the contrast of its pretty decorations, produced with finesse, and through which the theme of war opposes that of peace. ******** Period: 20th Very good condition.
