Landscape Signed Henri Saintin

A painting painted on canvas representing a landscape with a team of two horses accompanied by their carter, signed lower right “Henri Saintin 1880”. Saintin, Louis – Henri Paris 1846-1899. A student of Pils, he is an excellent landscaper of woods, river banks and ponds. He began at the Salon of 1867 with Mare sous bois at Val-Saint-Germain in winter, and henceforth exhibited works of the same inspiration (Sentier dans la forêt, Salon of 1873, Montpellier museum) until the moment he discovered Brittany and devoted himself mainly to watercolors, notably in Erquy in the Côtes-du-Nord (L'anse d'Erquy, Salon of 1878, Rennes museum). During a trip, he painted several views of Venice. The museums of Auxerre, Bayonne, Besançon, Tarbes and Tourcoing also have his works. Reference “The little masters of painting 1820-1920 Gérald Schurr”. Very pretty original frame gilded with gold leaf. Keyed chassis.
