"Charles X Chalice, Sterling Silver, France 1819-1839, Théodore Tonnelier"
Sumptuous Charles X period mass chalice in sterling silver  (950%). It is in perfect condition. It is richly decorated with motifs representing the Eucharist such as ears of wheat, bunches of grapes, reeds and crossed palm branches, symbol of the martyrs. It unscrews into four parts. The vermeil cup is hallmarked with guarantee hallmarks, known as "old man" hallmarks for the period 1819-38. The other parts of the Chalice have been (re)marked with the head of Minerva. The diamond-shaped master goldsmith's mark is that of Théodore Tonnelier in Paris. The chalice weighs 370 grams.
