"Panetière, Provence 18th Century, In Walnut."
A “pantry” piece of furniture for bread, the panetière took pride of place, hung on the walls of kitchens, in Provençal bastides. The lower and upper rails, very scrolled, are carved with motifs of a tureen and flowered basket, surrounded by branches. It opens to a small door decorated with ears of wheat, in molded reserves. The facade and sides are made of turned spindles to ventilate the 'clairevoie' interior. Arched front legs, with 'windings'. Rear feet with 'heels'. It is topped with 7 turned bobèches. Beautiful original fittings.
