Student of Jean Léon GEROME and Marius MICHEL, he was also influenced by MAUFRA whom he met in 1895 in Trébeurden and participated in the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux -Arts, at the Salon d’Automne and the Tuileries.
From 1904 to 1909, he exhibited at the prestigious BERNHEIM gallery with presentation in the catalog by Octave MIRBEAU, during these years, attracted by their particular light, he visited Belgium and Holland.
Admirer, without ever becoming their imitator, of MONET and SISLEY, he is recognized as a painter of the impressionist tradition,
