"Micro-mosaic Rome Temple Of Vesta"
This oval micro-mosaic medallion, on black onyx, was made with great precision and finesse. It represents the Temple of Vesta in Rome 7th century BC. JC Italian work from the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century, very beautifully made on a black onyx oval finely cut in a bevel.Length: 45 mm – height 35 mm – thickness 5 mm
We designate by the term “micro-mosaic”, smalti filati, a mosaic whose decoration is composed of tiny elements of hard stones, spun glass or fragments of colored enamel which are very finely assembled so as to make the joints almost imperceptible.
