Second beautiful gouache on paper signed by Nguyen Mai Thu, Vietnamese artist active during the French colonization in Vietnam / Indochina (1935-1954).

"Probably a former student of the preparatory classes of the Fine Arts of Indochina" (Cf Lynda Trouvé)

Nguyen Mai Thu developed many different themes, especially those of war and daily life, in particular the life of the TAV ethnicity. A book about this artist was recently published “Nguyen Thu – The Path to the East” by Tira Vanichtheeranont.

In very good condition, a slight trace of water on the signature, unframed.
