Large Box Or Casket Decorated With Cherubs, Napoleon III 19th Century
Amboyna burl box The top is decorated with a bronze sculpture in high relief depicting two cherubs carrying a numbered cartouche surrounded by garlands of flowers, acanthus leaf and ribbon bow. Interior in purple moire fabric, interior edges in ebony.
Bears a label “Jacquinet à Marseille” underneath.
Some traces of use and tiny chips.
