Oases in North Africa by René Gouast (1897-1980). Brother of Jean Lasne (1911-1940), hope of French painting between the wars, he gave up his name to sign the name of their mother, Gouast. This watercolor was created during the artist's 10-year stay in Africa. It is signed lower left, René Lasne and dated 32. The watercolor is framed in a molded and gilded wooden frame and measures 20x36.5 cm without frame.
