Exceptional Cylinder Desk Showcase In Precious Wood – Late 18th Century

Exceptional display desk, in two elements, dating from the end of the 18th century. The lower part is composed of a cylinder veneered in rosewood, butterfly wing style, surrounded by interlacing of light and dark wood highlighted by a violet wood frame. The interior offers a sliding shelf with bronze button. The border of this one is in rosewood with a light wood miter cut frame. This tablet is dark red leather with cold stickers, gold sticker, corner patterns and central pattern. This workspace includes, on each side, two drawers fitted with scalloped bronze buttons, with a rosewood front surrounded by violet wood, and in the center a secret drawer with a hidden closing system under the upper right drawer. Below, this desk has two drawers on the front, with hidden crossbars, with rosewood fronts, veneered in butterfly wings, decorated with nets. These drawers with beaded ring handles with mascarons feature authentic locks with Louis XVI entrances and their fitted rear keys. The whole rests on covered feet ending in brass shoes. The upper part is made up of two glass doors framed in rosewood and nets. These doors, mounted on brass hinges and equipped with a functional original lock with Louis XVI entries and fitted key, give access to three shelves on racks. The sides of this piece of furniture are crafted identically with the same types of wood. The uprights of the office and display area are made of amaranth. The structure of this period furniture is in oak.
