Original oil on embedded canvas 46 cm x 38 cm, sold with a wooden and gilded stucco frame 63 cm x 55 cm, signed lower right Jean Kevorkian, dating from the 70s/80s, countersigned and titled on the back "Douarnenez - Port Rhu" and representing boats at low tide in the port of Douarnenez in Brittany.

Jean Kevorkian 1933-2019
The painter Jean Kevorkian was born in Paris in May 1933 to Armenian parents driven into exile. Some ten years earlier, he began working at a very young age in a clothing workshop. Very quickly, he became a remarkable tailor, dressing a number of political and other figures in the Paris region. Having a pronounced talent for drawing, he took advantage of his free time to paint his first paintings. It was his passion. “He makes it his profession at the cost of meticulous, admirable work and exceptional intensity,” his friends point out. After a few vacations in Brittany, Jean and his sister, Rosine, were attracted and decided to settle there permanently at the end of the 80s. The siblings settled in Plouhinec. The artist's presence in painting galleries and the numerous exhibitions he has held have made him known both in France and abroad. On a local level, he regularly participated in the painting fairs to which his fervent admirers traveled. His studio opened to the public, delighted to immerse themselves in his impressionist world.
