"Embroidered Silk Vest, 18th Century."
18th century embroidered silk vest. This directoire vest with its straight shape and collar is uncommonly fresh. The flower embroideries have kept their colors and the silk its ivory tone. It is also enhanced with silver threads. It seems that the back has probably been modified to fit a more substantial owner (entirely hand-stitched). Note, however, the lack of the 12 buttons which must have found another use... The exceptional conservation of this directorial vest compensates for this lack.
