Pot With Base, Paste-on-paste, China, Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.
Footed pot made using the paste-on-paste technique. This technique, used in China since the Ming dynasty, consists of painting a white paste with a brush on a cobalt, brown or green background, in order to obtain a relief effect. The decoration depicts bamboo and blooming flowers, including plum blossoms, on a blue glaze background.
Glazed porcelain.

Pot: height 13 cm, diameter 22 cm, plate: height 4 cm, diameter 21 cm.
Very good condition, slight crack at the bottom of the pot.
