Born near Leeds, England, in 1860. Georges Wright was the older brother of Gilbert Scott Wright. He is believed to have worked as an illustrator early in his career. He lived in Rugby, England, for two years, during which time he painted polo scenes; he then lived in Oxford and Richmond, Surrey. On his retirement in 1939 he settled in Seaford, Sussex. He was best known for his hunting and training scenes and for his portraits of horses and equines; he also painted historical subjects, including several small works of horsemen. Wright died in Seaford, Sussex, England in 1942.
