Transition Louis He was made a master in 1761. Leonard Boudin is known for the quality of his furniture and particularly for that of his marquetry which he delivered in particular to the royal family, many of his pieces of furniture are kept in museums such as the Louvres, Versailles , Carnavalet, Cleveland... Our chest of drawers is topped with a Carrara marble top with cavetto molding, it opens on the front with two drawers without crosspieces and receives in its center a decoration inlaid with architectural attributes delicately enhanced with painted touches in an amaranth and rosewood frame with fillets, on either side of the antique inlaid vases in similar frames. Its rounded front uprights receive a trompe l'oeil decoration of inlaid fluting and end with high curved feet with gilded bronze sabots. The sides also receive a decoration of antique vases in frames of amaranth and rosewood with fillets, the rear uprights have a slight projection. This chest of drawers has its locks and key. The whole is enhanced with a mercury-gilded bronze trim.
Good condition, restorations of use and maintenance in particular to the marquetry
