We are in Venice at the end of the grand canal with a view of the “Santa Maria della Salute” basilica. The artist offers us with great talent and attention to detail, a luminous, lively work rich in numerous characters.
Giacomo Guardi (1764; 1835)
He is the last descendant of the Guardi family, Giacomo takes up the style and elements used by his father. Giacomo, faithful to the Venetian painters, both draws and paints what he sees. His brush seems to create with incisive touches the atmosphere of Venice under a light both green and golden and the characters, tiny accents, animate the scenes which unfold before our eyes.
