Boar's teeth trophy (Sus scrofa) from the Black Forest on wooden plate. The teeth are mounted in a silver mount with a small chain. The chain is articulated on the carved wooden plate. The place and date of the hunt are engraved on the front of the plate and the name of the hunter on the back. The wild boar was shot in Germany in 1973.Trophies are souvenirs of the hunted game, kept by the hunter as a souvenir or decorative object. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies. Today, they are increasingly popular as decorative elements in hunting lodges.
