A splendid Antique Tibetan slate Mani stone carved with the Buddhist mantra "Om mani padme hum" 

Mani stones are stone plates, rocks or pebbles inscribed with the  mantra of Avalokiteshvara - Om mani padme hum - praise to the jewel in the lotus; ( hence the name mani stone), a mantra in Tibetan Buddhism. 

Period - 19th century or earlier

Condition - chips on the edge.

Measurement - 29.5cm x 27.8cm.
