Begins in Angers before continuing at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris with Gérôme. He appeared at the Salon des Indépendants and the National Society of Fine Arts from 1910. He won the Berton Prize in 1920. We owe him decorations at the Ministry of Public Works: the 4 seasons. A sensitive artist, he was honored by the friendship of Renoir with whom he worked in Cagnes and whom he resembles at the time of the so-called "Ingresque" period of Renoir. He wanted to combine the color of the Impressionists with the drawing of Ingres.
