Bavent Earthenware Cat
Superb elegant Bavent XXth century earthenware cat. The cat is presented standing on its paws with its back curved, its eyes in paperweight. The Mesnil de Bavent pottery factory in Normandy was originally for the manufacture of finials and roof ornamentation. Then the animals of Bavent were placed on the roofs as ornamentation. Very good general condition apart from a small chip above the right eye.
