Chameleon Pendant By Amalric Walter
Artist: Amalric Walter
Chameleon pendant by Amalric Walter, after a design by Henri Bergé.
Born in 1870, Amalric Walter began his career at Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres, then worked at Daum, where he met Henri Bergé. He became Bergé's main collaborator for the designs of the workshop Amalric Walter opened in Nancy after the First World War.
This fruitful collaboration reached its zenith in the 1920s. Walter also worked with other designers such as Jules Cayette and Alfred Finot.
The medallion presented here is typical of Bergé and Walter's collaboration, offering an interesting interplay of colors and textures.
