Console Louis XVI, Stamp Of Fidelys Schey
Elegant console with rounded sides in mahogany and mahogany veneer on an oak frame, it opens with a frieze drawer and rests on four tapered fluted legs, connected by a slightly curved spacer shelf on the front, white marble top with groove restored on an angle, beaded pull rings and original bronze keyhole. Faubourg work from the Louis XVI period, stamped F. SCHEY. Fidelys SCHEY (-1788), received master on February 5, 1777 and established rue du faubourg Saint Antoine, his production includes Transition and mainly Louis XVI furniture of good manufacture but he was also able to execute furniture of a comparable superior quality to those of the best craftsmen of his time.
