Object description :

"Aubusson Tapestry "verdure" Wool And Silk Late 17th Century Early 18th Century"
Tapestry with beige, yellow and pink colors and shades of green for the foliage. Rural landscape on an architectural background animated by birds: hen, birds, dove of the Holy Spirit descending from the heavens (symbolizing the Divine Spirit and Good), a snake crawling at the bottom of the fountain on the right (symbolizing evil). Green border with yellow border added. This tapestry seduces by its colors because it is not dark as is often the case in these productions. Animals bring life, charged with the symbols we have deciphered. Restoration: use and maintenance carried out. Reweaving and restorations on several parts (Lined on the reverse with rings in the upper part to be suspended). Provenance: Galerie Kassapian Paris (circa 1989) Private collection Vincennes
