An exceptional fireplace, made out of the Brun de Boulonge-marble, found in an ancien couvent in the région Calais, North-west of France. Rococo, ca.1775. The serpentine shelf is resting above a large and beautiful sculptured cartouche, richly foliated, also on both side-ends.
The canted jambs are adorned with more carvings, as one piece connected with sturdy footblocks. This soft-warmbrown chimneypiece makes a compelling statement in any interior.
