Louis XVI Cage Clock In Gilt Bronze
Louis XVI style cage clock in very finely chiseled bronze and gilded with mercury in two matt and shiny shades burnished with agate. Self-adjusting mechanism signed by Maison Languereau in Paris and Masselotte for the bronzes. Movement in very good working condition, unrevised. Gold medal in 1827. Original sun pendulum bearing No. 508 corresponding to the same No as the plate and the gong. The body is decorated with glass walls and bevelled on all sides. Enamelled dial signed by the enameller DEBAUGE Fils in Paris resting on a flowering branch tied with a ribbon. The base with double projections is adorned with a cartridge trim decorated with rosettes alternating with piastres and openwork, on the front and sides. All the frames of the walls are lined with a frieze of a heart stripe, even on the back door. Cornice with terrace decorated with a pediment with straight cornice. Latch door in very good closing condition.
