Beautiful movement and details.The lotus flower (lianhua 莲花, hehua 荷花) is symbolic of purity and perfection within Buddhist and Taoist thought. In Buddhism, the lotus refers to the three stages of existence: past, present, and future. In Taoism, the lotus is an attribute of He Xiangu, one of the Eight Immortals, who is also represented in the form of a woman. This statuette could represent this taoist immortal.
