"Louis Gallian: Portrait Of Jean Aicard, Drawing"
In the 1880s, the publication of the illustrated catalog of the SAF required artists to send a drawing of the painting they wanted to exhibit, so that an engraver could transfer this drawing to the catalog. The drawing presented is autograph executed by the painter from his painting. Louis Gallian, born in Dijon in 1849 and died in Paris in 1934, pupil of A. Yon, A. Cabanel and Léon Bonnat, exhibited at the Salon from 1879 to 1923. Member of the SAT in 1889. Jean Aicard, 1848 Toulon- 1921 Paris, poet, novelist and playwright.
