Large horizontal brass solar clock signed Baradelle Paris C 1730. Main plate of the dial with four time scales, two with Roman numerals (IIII-XII-VIII) and two with Arabic numerals. Bird-shaped gnomon, adjustable from 40 to 60 degrees. Very beautiful engraving with acanthus leaves on the gnomon. The back of the dial plate is engraved with 27 cities and their latitudes. Compass with 8 directions and magnetic declination marked 15 degrees west. Similar model in the collection of the Louvre, Landau. Baradelle was a student in the workshop of Jacques Lemaire, then with the famous manufacturer of scientific instruments Nicolas Bion. He was appointed king's engineer in 1728
