Puiforcat : Rare Sterling Silver & Vermeil Ice Cream Service Renaissance Style Medieval Knight Pattern

Extraordinary Renaissance style Solid Silver Ice Cream Service by PUIFORCAT. This extremely rare service comprises 12 spoons and a matching serving spoon, a complete 13 piece set housed in its original presentation box. Handles feature a meticulously detailed Medieval Knight with plummed helmet, holding a monogrammed shield in one hand, and in the other hand a lance embellished with a vermeil ribbon accented with alternating Fleur de Lys and Lion Passant heraldic motifs.  Vermeil spoon ends are finely chased and engraved with scroll, foliate, and fruit motifs. 
Each peace is stamped with the Minerve 1st Standard silver mark (.950) and hallmark of reknowned Master Goldsmith Emile PUIFORCAT (Hallmark with the initials "EP" and a penknife) active in 1857. The service is presented in its very beautiful original box, its fitted interior lined in a rich cream moiré silk and green velvet.
