"Pendulum XVIII In Gilt Bronze From Leroy"
Superb etrare clock in round shape and from the 18th century by Le Roy in Paris. It rests on small gilt bronze feet supporting a Carrara marble base. Above is the support of the pendulum composed of a cylinder molded with lion's head coats of arms and the base of a column. On the perimeter 3 angels holding bouquets and draperies. On the white enamel dial the Roman numerals indicate the hour and the minutes in Arabic. On the top in a cloud a putto like in a coat of arms The portrait of Louis XVI. Rare by its shape and the quality of its gilded bronze executed with great finesse of carving. Wire movement completely overhauled, all in perfect condition. A model of the same form of Le Roy but much less decorative is represented on page 332 in the encyclopedia of the French clock by Pierre Kjellberg.
