--Essay printed in green, most certainly unique-- STEINLEN ( Théophile-Alexandre) - Frail song. Original lithograph on Japan paper with full margins, signed in the plate lower right, printed in green. Sheet dimensions: 500 x 320 mm. Subject dimensions: 200 x 160 mm. Condition: Perfect condition. Original lithograph published in "Chansons de Femmes" by Paul Delmet, [P., Imp. E. Verneau for Enoch et Cie, 1897]. It represents a woman lying on a sofa accompanied by a cat (the artist's favorite subject). This print is a trial proof found in Verneau's stocks, it is most certainly unique, or in any case, from a very limited print run. It is presented in a black beveled passe-partout (600 x 400 mm), ready to be framed. Ref. : Crauzat, 194.
