SIlk Embrodery 'Rest during the flight to Egypt'..  In a country landscape with buindings in the background,  the Holy family  is having a rest  under a fruit tree, Saint Joseph offers fruits to the Infant..  The donkey who has carried Mary and the Infant grazes nearby.  As typical in this kind of silk emboidery, faces and  other parts of the body are painted in watercolour.  The embrodery is framed in an octagonal tortoiseshell frame.   Italy 18th Century  .
