"Michael Korochansky 1866-1925. Shepherdess In The Moor."
Born in Odessa in 1866, Michel Korochansky died in 1925 in Montigny-sur-Loing. He arrived in Paris in the 1880s, it was at the Julian Academy that he studied with the painters William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. He likes landscapes, seasides and portraits. He likes to paint in the forest of Fontainebleau. Medalist several times at the salons of the society of independent artists. He also devotes himself to the illustration of Russian tales (Tolstoï, Dostoyevski, Pouchkine, Gogol, Tourguénev...). This beautiful picture was painted in the forest of Fontainebleau, the moor is covered with heather in the dazzling colors of purple and wine. Our painting is painted on its original canvas, without restoration and signed, lower right. Its gilded wooden frame is carved with flowers.
