Alfred Hippolyte Marinier was born in Orsay in 1833. Pupil of Jules Noël and Henri Marie Beyle, he exhibited at the Salon from 1879 to 1881. Then he left Paris to settle in Brittany in Saint Cast le Guildo in 1885. His neuvue, Ernest Marinier, was also a painter.
