Large mushroom lamp with a yellow background and a red glaze cleared with acid, with blackberry brambles as decorations. Signed on the base of the baluster body "d'Argental" (Paul NICOLAS) accompanied by the insignia of the Cross of Lorraine. Original gilt bronze frame. Paul NICOLAS (1875 - 1952) head workshop at E.GALLE until 1914. He participated in the most beautiful pieces presented at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 where E.GALLE revealed himself as the greatest glassmaker of his time. Paul NICOLAS decided to create his own studio in 1919, and until 1925, he signed his works with Argental, a name inspired by the place where he settled (Vallée d'Argent). From 1925 to 1928, these signatures were used concurrently. Then, he will sign Nicolas exclusively.
