Emiel Veranneman 1924-2004 Gigantic carpet unique commission from a collector. ARTIST AND DESIGNER Emiel Veranneman died Thursday morning at the age of 79 in Kortrijk where he lived. Mr. Veranneman was an interior designer and furniture designer. Emiel Veranneman was the nephew of the painter Constant Permeke. Trained at St-Luc in Ghent and at La Cambre in Brussels, Mr. Veranneman created the interior of the 20 “3 Suisses” stores in 1957. He also decorated a series of Hilton hotels. Finally, it is to him and to Paul Delvaux that we owe the decoration of the Palais des Congrès in Brussels. He also designed furniture for the Universal Exhibition in Montreal (1976) and the Belgian pavilion for the Universal Exhibition in Osaka. it is extremely heavy, and would require surface cleaning.
