Beautiful portrait of young Vietnamese woman signed by the Lorient painter Henry Joubioux.

The woman is named on the back Ty-Mon, the work is dated 1959.

The Lorient painter began at the Beaux-Arts in Paris during the Second World War, then he enlisted at 20 years in 1944 for the duration of the war, then Indochina. From 1946 to 1956, he lived as an adventurer and artist in Laos. Returning from a stay in Australia, he returned to his destroyed Laotian village. He returned to France. In 1956, an exhibition in Paris marked the success of the «Far East painter». These 10 years in Asia have forever permeated his art.
He moved with his family to the village of Trévidel in Kervignac, where he taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lorient. For the artist, this period is also marked by a total change of style, confusing: after the exuberance of the colors and forms of the Orient, his painting approaches the green-of-grey period, with rigid and fixed silhouettes. He explored new techniques. Exhibitions followed one another in Brittany, Paris, Germany.
He died in 1986.
