Superb miniature painted with gouache after the works of François Boucher (1703-1770). This large miniature represents Venus and Cupid with very fine precision and beautiful colors. Venus is naked, with just a veil over her shoulders, she is seated on rocks. The cherub stands near her and she holds two doves in her hand. Signature of Boucher. The sumptuous frame in very finely chiseled gilt bronze in the Louis XVI style is signed by the great Parisian bronzier Henri Picard. Possibility of hanging the frame like putting it on a piece of furniture. Very good state of house, very brilliant original gilding. Napoleon III period.
